100% black Lampong pepper.

Black Lampong pepper is cultivated in the southernmost part of Sumatra Island, Indonesia. The nose reveals subtle notes of dried fruitmixed with more camphorous fragrances evolving into smoky (sooty) scents. On the palate, the attack is frank, warm, and biting. The finish leaves an impression that is both fresh and mentholated, marked by flavors of smoke and exotic wood. It is best to coarsely grind the berries of this black Lampong pepper in a mortar, just before serving with sea bream baked in a salt crust, roasted salmon drizzled with a red wine reduction, or a delicious braised beef fillet, for example.
