The Chasen is a bamboo whisk for the traditional preparation of Japanese powdered green tea. Preparing Matcha tea for a smooth and frothy tea: 1/ Put 1 teaspoon of tea or 2 bamboo spatulas (Chashaku) into a Japanese Matcha bowl (Chawan), dip the whisk in hot water. 2/ Pour 15 cl of water at 80°C little by little. 3/ Whisk vigorously with an "M" shaped motion to avoid breaking the whisk's prongs. 4/ After the foam has formed, remove the whisk, breaking the bubbles. 5/ Clean the whisk by rinsing it under water and let it dry.
