Description : Shiso flakes are reminiscent of the furikake traditionally sprinkled over rice. These flakes are made from organically grown red shiso leaves from Wakayama. For every 45g jar, 237 shiso leaves are mixed with organic salt and ume plum vinegar. The shiso leaves are then dried in a way that enhances their intense color and fragrance.

Flavor: A sweet balance between salty and fruity with an intense shiso scent reminiscent of cranberry and hibiscus.

Organic Shiso (60%), Salt (20%), Organic Ume Vinegar (20%)

Used like furikake, these flakes will season rice and onigiri, but their use is much broader: try sprinkling them over fresh cheese or mozzarella with a drizzle of olive oil.

The subtle saltiness and fruity aroma of shiso pair very well with fish, pasta dishes, or pizzas, for example. Finally, these flakes will add a zing to your fruit salads.
