Goji berries (or wolfberries) are native to China. They have been used since 500 BC. In Asia, they are used in cooking as well as for making dyes. This red fruit, measuring 1 to 2 cm, is considered a "superfruit" with fantastic nutritional properties because it alone contains 18 amino acids, including 8 essential ones, which means they are not synthesized by the human body and must therefore be supplied through diet. Goji berries also provide an important source of vitamins (B1, B2, B6, C, and E), minerals, fatty acids, trace elements (calcium, zinc, phosphorus...), etc.
Benefits: Goji berries are renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties and their ability to regulate cholesterol and blood sugar.
In savory cuisine, goji berries can be used in salads, soups, and creamy vegetable soups.
Their slightly sweet taste is reminiscent of sun-dried tomatoes.
In sweet cuisine, they can be incorporated into tarts, cakes, cookies, muffins, and compotes. And also in your yogurts and cereals.
